CCF Edmonton Branch celebrated and honoured our outstanding members and scholarship winners.
   
May 31 - June 3, 2007 CCFCC National Convention – Renaissance Toronto Airport Hotel – Toronto

As always, the National Convention was an excellent opportunity to network with peers from across the country, visit with old and new friends, attend excellent workshops and, oh yes, deal with association business. This year there was also the Canada - Nordic Challenge and the Chef of the Year competition - both were well-organized and very successful.
   
April 2, 2007 – Vegetable Carving and Ice Carving Workshop

Chefs Danilo Madrid and Steve Cheung, both of The Fairmont Hotel Macdonald, demonstrated their respective culinary art skills to an appreciative workshop audience.
   
March 5, 2007 – Dinner Meeting – The Fairmont Hotel Macdonald

Chef David Wong of The Fairmont Hotel Macdonald treated us to a marvelous meal. The ambiance was outstanding and the turnout was excellent.
   
February 23-25, 2007 – CCFCC Western Region Conference

The Western Region held a successful conference at The Westin in Calgary.
   
February 12, 2007 – Beer and Cheese Workshop

Reg Hendrickson of the Dairy Bureau of Canada treated us to an entertaining and informative presentation on Canadian cheese. Many thanks to Alley Kat and Maverick Brewing Co. for providing the excellent beer.
   
February 3-5, 2007 – Banff Joint Meeting

The Calgary, Lethbridge and Edmonton branches held at joint meeting at The Banff Centre. The group was small but a good time was had by all.
   
January 8, 2007 – Lebanese Mezza Workshop

Chefs Michel and Ibtisam Dhaibi and daughter, Jahane, treated an enthusiastic group to a highly entertaining, flavourful and filling evening of Lebanese Mezza. An added bonus was the lively debate between Chef Dhaibi and Chef Abinader about north and south.
   
December 4, 2006 – Christmas Dinner Meeting

A good time was had by all at The Westin Edmonton where members and guests enjoyed a superb dinner prepared by Chef Michael Brown and staff.
   
November 13, 2006 – A Taste of Italy - Risotto Rules! Workshop

Members and guests were treated to a special presentation by life member Cesare Gentile with the help of Stephen Kaiser and Manfred Kalk in the Shaw Conference Centre kitchen.
   
October 2, 2006 - A Taste of Japan

The Branch kicked off the 2006/2007 Workshop series with a presentation on Japanese sushi products in the Shaw Conference Centre kitchen.
   
September 11, 2006 - Membership Drive Meeting

The first meeting of the 2006/2007 year was held in the NAIT cafeteria. Current and potential members heard first-hand from the new Board of Directors what their plans and goals for the Branch are for the upcoming year.
